Terms of Service

Version 1.2 — February 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NANOGATE, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The service operator is identified in the Impressum.

2. Description of Service

NANOGATE is a non-custodial gateway connecting the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) to the Nano network. We never hold your private keys or funds. Users are advised to verify all transactions independently.

3. Community-Operated Infrastructure

NANOGATE routes RPC requests and Proof-of-Work computations through a network of nodes and servers. These may be operated by NANOGATE or by independent community members. Community node operators may receive a share of the credits consumed by requests routed through their nodes as compensation for their infrastructure contribution. NANOGATE does not control or monitor the data handling practices of community-operated nodes.

By using the service, you acknowledge that your Nano-specific request data (such as account addresses, block hashes, and transaction details) may be processed by community-operated infrastructure. This is inherent to decentralized network architecture and applies equally to any Nano RPC request, whether made through NANOGATE or directly to a node.

4. Beta Service

This is a beta service. NANOGATE is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The use of this service is at your own risk.

5. Account Registration

Use of paid features requires a registered account. Registration may be restricted and is subject to approval. We reserve the right to refuse registration without providing a reason.

6. Credits

Access to NANOGATE's RPC gateway requires credits. Credits are purchased with Nano (XNO) and have no cash value. Nano payments for credits are final and non-refundable. We reserve the right to introduce credit expiry for inactive accounts in the future.

Credits are non-refundable. Upon account termination, remaining credits cannot be recovered. If a request is rejected by the system (e.g., due to rate limiting), credits charged for that request may be automatically restored. To prevent spam, creating purchases or donations may require solving a Proof-of-Work challenge. The difficulty of these challenges may increase during periods of high demand.

7. Donations

NANOGATE accepts voluntary Nano donations. All donations are final and non-refundable, even if the donation is cancelled after the payment has been sent. Donation orders expire after 5 minutes — your payment must be confirmed by our system within this time. Since payment detection may take up to 15 seconds, we recommend sending your payment well before the deadline. During the beta phase, donors may optionally receive a limited number of credits as a thank-you. The number of credits per donation is capped. This offer may be changed or discontinued at any time without notice.

8. Credit Transfers

Users may transfer credits to other registered users. Credit transfers are irreversible and subject to a transfer fee. Rate limits apply to the number of transfers within a given time period.

9. Delegated Canisters

Users may delegate other Internet Computer canisters to use their credits. The delegating user is responsible for all credit usage by their delegated canisters and bears the associated costs. Credit limits and expiration dates may be set per delegated canister. The number of canisters that can be delegated per user is limited. Managing delegations (adding, removing, transferring canisters, updating limits) may incur credit fees. Current fees are listed in the API documentation.

10. Private Nodes

Registered users may connect their own Nano node to the gateway for personal use. When a private node is configured, the user's RPC requests are routed through their own infrastructure instead of the public node network. The user is solely responsible for the availability, security, and correct operation of their private node. NANOGATE is not liable for any issues arising from the use of a private node, including but not limited to failed transactions, incorrect responses, or data loss. Managing private node settings (registering, removing, or configuring a private node) may incur credit fees. Current fees are listed in the API documentation.

11. Rate Limiting and Fair Use

The service enforces rate limits to ensure fair access for all users. Requests that exceed the applicable limits may be throttled or rejected. Rate limits may be adjusted at any time without notice.

12. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

13. Right to Suspend or Terminate Access

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate access to NANOGATE for any user, without prior notice, if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the user violates these Terms of Service or engages in any activity that we, at our sole discretion, deem harmful to the operation or reputation of the gateway, the Nano network, or third parties.

Accounts may also be automatically suspended based on abuse patterns, such as repeated cancellation or expiration of orders. Blocked users have no claim to refunds of unused credits.

14. Data Storage on Blockchain

All service data, including user accounts, credit transactions, purchases, donations, and credit transfers, is stored on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) blockchain. Data recorded on the blockchain is essentially permanent and may not be fully erasable due to the nature of decentralized storage. Upon account deletion, historical records such as transaction history, purchases, donations, and credit transfers are retained. For details on data handling, see our Privacy Policy.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from the use of this service, including but not limited to:

This limitation does not apply to damages caused by willful misconduct or gross negligence on our part.

16. Cryptocurrency Risks

Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible. Once a transaction is confirmed on the Nano network, it cannot be undone. Users are solely responsible for ensuring the correctness of recipient addresses and transaction amounts.
